During his last match, Hodge actually struggled due to his knee soreness after his knee problem during the FR Cup match against South Australia team in Tuesday, 15th December 2009. He was keen to play on for Victoria team in Twenty20 and also in one day matches. However, he has not given up his hope of playing at the Australia squad for the ICC World Twenty20 which would be played next year in West Indies. His overall fitness will be assessed prior to the December 23rd one day match to be held against New South Wales team in Sydney.

Till date Hodge has scored 17,084 runs with an average of 48.81 from 223 appearances. He made overall 51 centuries with top score of 302 not out.
