The West Indies women displayed highly profession form of play at their first T20 match against South Africa on 25th October 2009. West Indies went in to bat first and were restricted for 93 runs setting up an easy target for South Africa. The visitors completed the victory run in only 13 overs. >

The costliest bowler proved to be Pamela Lavinewith an economy of 9. The opening bowler Stafanie Taylor also got 2 early birds. Medium pacer Stacey-Ann King also proved economical by partaking 10 runs in 4 overs.
West Indies started off quickly and conquered 48 runs without any loss when suddenly, opener Deandra Dottin crashed out to the bowling of Charlize van der Westhuizen. The same over saw the dismissal of Pamela Lavine for an LBW. The West Indies suffered 2 ore dismissals but were able to achieve their target well within the stipulated time. The South African bowling line-up proved to be weak with all bowlers rendering fragile economies. Ashlyn Kilowan proved to be the costilies bowler for South Africa having an economy of 19. Charlize van der Westhuizen grabbed 2 wickets while Alicia Smith settled for one. Cordel Jack was dismissed for a run out in the 6th over.
