BCCI in a WADA-fix, meet ICC on Sunday

The BCCI has said that it will work with ICC to come out with the best possible solution to the on-going problems with the signing of the anti-doping agreement.

The BCCI has said that it will work with ICC to come out with the best possible solution to the on-going problems with the signing of the anti-doping agreement. The Indian cricketers had raised concerns over one of the clause in the agreement, and the same had been conveyed to the ICC. Problem on hand for BCCI>

Shashank Manohar, the President of BCCI has said that the cricket board will not adopt a confrontational approach, and will look to resolving the issue as soon as it is possible. He also said that the players’ grievances had been conveyed to the ICC and moving forward, the board will adopt their stance in a working committee meeting on Sunday.

He had said, “There is absolutely no confrontation between the BCCI and ICC on the issue and if anyone is trying to convey such a picture, that is wrong. Our players have concerns about the security and privacy aspects regarding certain clauses in the WADA code. We have conveyed these concerns to the ICC and we will sit with them to work out a solution”

The bone of contention that has caused the whole furore has been the clause that expects the cricketers to sign the dotted line and make a mention of their whereabouts for one hour a day for the next three months; something that the fiercely private Indian cricketers are wary about. There will now be a meeting between the ICC and BCCI, that will be attended by Sachin Tendulkar, M.S.Dhoni and Virender Sehwag as well.
