SRK apologises to Gavaskar

If it was John Buchanan’s attempt to soothe things out yesterday, today, Shah rukh Khan has come out in the open and said that he has had apologised to Sunil Gavaskar for his purported comments against the former Indian captain and commentator.

If it was John Buchanan’s attempt to soothe things out yesterday, today, Shah rukh Khan has come out in the open and said that he has had apologised to Sunil Gavaskar for his purported comments against the former Indian captain and commentator. It might be recalled that Khan, owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders team had openly questioned Gavaskar’s reasons to comment on the decisions that John Buchanan had earlier made regarding the multiple captains.

Speaking to an Indian cricket website, SRK said that the whole incident had hurt me and it had been misinterpreted and misquoted beyond recognition. Shah rukh Khan said, “I have not said anything against Mr Gavaskar. I just wanted to have a breathing space to try something new. He is my idol. I have sent him an apology letter if he also felt so because he was in America that time.”

SRK also clarified that the team will announce the captains on the 16th of April, a couple of days before the tournament gets underway and that will be after the decision for the same has been taken by John Buchanan.

My take on this ‘now boring’ issue: Wonder whether they will ever see light at the end of the tunnel. Wonder whether we ever will see the end to this tomfoolery! On second thoughts, this could be one of the best marketing and promotion gimmick to get more eye-balls on to the Kolkata Knight Riders; something that is an absolute must in this day and age of financial crisis.
