Sarah Taylor departed to the pavilion when she was caught by Chamari Kumarihami off the bowling of Shashikala Siriwardene. Claire Taylor and Atkins increased the score to 152 at the end of 26.2 overs. Atkins was bowled by Eshani Kaushalya when she had scored 50 runs in 85 deliveries with the assistance of 3 boundaries. Claire Taylor was ably assisted by Charlotte Edwards who made 27 and Lydia Greenway who remained unbeaten on 32. England Women received 25 extras due to wayward Sri Lankan bowling.
