From 1932 to 2007, there have been 97 Tests, in which India has been triumphant in 18, England has been triumphant in 34 and 45 resulted in a draw. India and West Indies have contested 82 Tests from 1948 to 2006, out of which 41 have been drawn, 30 have been won by West Indies and 11 have been lost by them. Australia has participated in 76 Test matches against India from 1947 to 2008. India has attained victory in 18, had to face defeat in 34, 1 has been tied and 23 have been drawn. The Indian rivalry with Pakistan from 1952 to 2007 is spread over 59 Tests. Pakistan has won 12, lost 9 and 38 ended as a draw.

44 Test matches have been played from 1955 to 2003 between New Zealand and India. India faced defeat in 9, was victorious and the result of 21 was a draw. Sri Lanka has played 29 Test matches against India between 1982 and 2008. 13 have been drawn, 5 were won by Sri Lanka and 11 lost by it. India and South Africa, from 1992 to 2008, battled in 22 Test matches out of which India won 5, lost 10 and 7 resulted as a draw. Zimbabwe has been playing Test cricket with India from 1992 to 2005 and out of the 11 Test matches played between these two countries, a couple were drawn, a couple were won by Zimbabwe and the rest were won by India. India has won 4 matches out of 5 played against Bangladesh from 2000 to 2007, while 1 was drawn.
