West Indies beat Sri Lanka by seven wickets to win the second T20I and wrap up the series 2-0.

For the second match in the series, Sri Lanka brought in Lahiru Kumara for Isuru Udana, whilst the West Indies were unchanged.

It was the tourists who won the toss in Kandy and chose to bowl first, enjoying early success when Oshane Thomas bowled Avishka Fernando for 9. Kusal Perera and Shehan Jayasuriya added 32, but then both men fell in successive deliveries from Fabian Allen. First to go was Jayasuriya, who was caught by Rovman Powell for 16, followed by Mendis, caught by Lendl Simmons for 15.

Kusal Mendis and Angelo Mathews then shared a stand oi 33, before Mendis was caught by Powell, with Dwayne Bravo the bowler on this occasion. Mathews out in 14 with Dasun Shanaka, but then he was run out by Allen, having scored 23.

Then Shanaka and Wanindu Hasaranga added 12, before Hasaranga was caught by Shimron Hetmyer from a ball by Sheldon Cottrell. However, Shanaka and Thisara Perera put on an unbeaten 46 for the seventh wicket, helping their side close on 155 6 from their 20 overs. Shanaka finished on 31 not out, having hit one six and Thisara Perera, who also hit a six, was unbeaten on 21.

Allen was the most successful of the West Indies bowlers with 2 for 24.

In reply, the West Indies also lost a player in the third over, Simmons bowled by Mathews for 9. However, Brandon King and Hetmyer then put on 46 until, having made 43 from 21 balls, including 2 sixes, King was caught by Lasith Malinga after a ball from Kumara. Then Hetmyer shared a stand with Powel, and the pair added 34 until Powell, who had made 17, fell to a catch by Jayasuriya, Shanaka the bowler.

However, Hetmyer and Andre Russell then combined in an unbeaten partnership of 55, as their side cruised to victory with three overs to spare. Hetmyer was 45 not out at the end, whilst Russell made 40 not out of just 14 balls, including 6 sixes.
