Injury has forced India into a change ahead of the decisive third One-Day International of their series against the West Indies in Cuttack on Sunday.
The three-match ODI series is level at 1-1 after India won the second match by 107 runs on Wednesday.
Rohit Sharma smashed 159 from 138 balls to be named Player of the Match as India set 5-387, with the West Indies falling short, bowled out for 280 in the 44th over.
Mohammed Shami took three wickets for the victorious side, but fast bowler Deepak Chahar only got through seven overs in the match and has been ruled out of the decider.
Chahar suffered mild pain in his lower back and the BCCI medical team said he needed rest to fully recover.
The BCCI medical team examined him and has suggested that the fast bowler needs some rest in order to fully recover, the BCCI said in a statement.
The West Indies won the first ODI by eight wickets in Chennai after Shimron Hetmyer blasted a quickfire century.
India are currently ranked second on the ODI Rankings while the West Indies are ninth.
