Bangladesh cantered to another easy victory over Zimbabwe in their 3rd ODI in Chittagong, chasing down a total of 286 with more than 7 overs to spare.

With the series already won, Bangladesh decided to get Soumya Sarkar, Ariful Haque and Abu Hider into the playing XI while Fazle Mahmud, Mehedi Hasan, and Mustafizur Rahman were rested. Zimbabwe meanwhile replaced Brandon Mavuta and Tendai Chatara with Richard Ngarava and Wellington Masakadza.

It was Bangladesh who won the toss and decided to field first, enjoying early success with the ball from Cephas Zhuwao was bowled in just the second over for a duck by Mohammad Saifuddin. Then, without the score being added to, his partner and Zimbabwe captain Hamilton Masakadza was bowled by Hider for just 2.

However, Brendan Taylor and Sean Williams then staged a strong fightback with a stand of 132, and when Taylor was the third man out, caught behind off the bowling of Nazmul Islam for 75, having struck 3 sixes, Williams continued to build the innings with Sikandar Raza. Another fine stand of 84 ensued which was only ended when Raza fell for 40, caught by Soumya off the bowling of Soumya.

However, Williams was still going, and, now joined by Peter Moor, he reached his second ODI century, as the visitors looked to set a big target. Together the pair added a further 62, before Moor, having hit 2 sixes, was run out in the final over for 28. Williams meanwhile, finished on 129 not out, having hit a six and 10 fours, and after steering his side to 286 – 5.

In terms of the Bangladesh reply, Zimbabwe struck immediately, with Kyle Jarvis getting the wicket of Liton Das off the first ball. However, a dominant partnership between Imrul Kayes and Soumya ensured that the home side of another comfortable victory. Scoring at more than 7 runs an over, the pair put on 220 for the second wicket in just 30 overs, with both men scoring a century. Soumya was the fastest to reach is century, hitting 6 sixes and 9 fours, before he was eventually out for 117, caught by Donald Tiripano off the bowling of Hamilton Masakadza.

With the victory target in sight, the other Masakadza finally took the wicket of Kayes, caught by Elton Chigumbura for 115, an innings that contained 2 sixes, and 10 fours. However, Mushfiqur and Mohammad Mithun then eased their side home, with both men unbeaten at the end, Mushfiqur with 28, and Mithun with 7.
