Delhi go into Tuesday’s fixture, sitting at the foot of the qualifying table, with just two wins to their credit, to set alongside six defeats. They are currently on a run of five successive losses, the last four of which have all been in away matches.
The Delhi Daredevils last played on home soil way back on March 18, when they entertained the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and were beaten after scoring 168-7.
When the Daredevils visited the Sunrisers in Match No, 21, the Sunrisers were victorious by 15 runs, with Dhawan and Williamson both scoring half centuries, as the Champions posted 191-4. Iyer with 50 not out and Samson 42 both led the charge in reply, but they ultimately came up short with 176-5.
In contrast to the struggles of the Daredevils, the Hyderabad Sunrisers look set to qualify for the knockout stages in defence of their title, as they occupy third spot in the table, with six wins and a no result from the 10 games that they have played so far,
The Sunrisers have only managed to win once on their travels in 2017, but that victory came in their most recent away game, in Mohali against the Kings XI, when they won by 26 runs. On Sunday, in a top of the table clash, the Sunrisers downed KKR by 48-runs to continue their 100% home record. David Warner smashing 126 out of their 209.
The two sides have faced each other nine previous times in the IPL. with the Sunrisers holding sway, with six wins to date, to the three success of the Daredevils.
