St Kitts & Nevis Patriots v Trinbago Knight Riders live & preview CPL 2016

The 26th match of the 2016 Caribbean Premier League tournament, will take place between the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots and the Trinbago Knight Riders, and will be played at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida.

After Guyana Warriors defeated the Barbados Tridents at the same venue on Thursday, the qualification situation has become somewhat clearer. The Warriors victory ensuring themselves of a place in the knockout phase of the competition alongside the Jamaica Tallawahs, while the Tridents are left needing to win the return contest against the Warriors, and hope that other results go their way, if they are to sneak into the last four.

The Patriots are already eliminated from the tournament, having managed just a solitary victory, while losing seven matches ahead of the clash with the Knight Riders. Trinbago meanwhile are in third position in the table, and will themselves clinch their own top four place with awn against the Patriots. The Knight Riders own record so far, reads played eight, won four and lost four.

The last outing for both sides was against the St. Lucia Zouks. The Patriots were comfortably beaten, despite four wickets for Alzarri Joseph, who has been called up by the West Indies to their squad for the second Test against India.

Meanwhile, the Knight Riders claimed victory, chasing 168 to win a thrilling victory with one over to spare in Gros Islet, thanks largely to a stunning innings from Umar Akmal, who smashed 73 not out from just 35 deliveries, a knock that included 7 sixes..

The Patriots will be meeting the Knight Riders twice in Florida, and even should there be an upset in the first clash, the Knight Riders know that they need to win just one of the two fixtures to be certain of a place in the play-offs.
