Sachin Tendulkar, ace batsman, often referred to as the ‘little master’ has plunged to an all time low ranking at the 23rd position in the Reliance Mobile ICC Player Rankings for Test batsmen. sachin tendulkar

Tendulkar was at the 13th position however, after a substandard series against Sri Lanka which finished in Colombo on Monday with India loosing the series to Sri Lanka 1-2, Tendulkar sunk to his all time lowest career standing after being in the top 20 for 15 years. He could only score 95 runs at an average of 15.83 in the 3 test matches that were played.

Tendulkar was named in the One Day International team to play against Sri Lanka as well as the Champions Trophy in Pakistan, however following an injury to his left elbow during the third and final Test against Sri Lanka, Tendulkar has been ruled out of the five match ODI series against Sri Lanka which will be played from 18th to 29th August. He is been replaced by Subramaniam Badrinath, who is a batsman from Tamil Nadu.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Indian cricket captain expressed his regret on the absence of ace batsman Sachin Tendulkar and said, “It’s very difficult to replace him. Not only with bat and ball, but in the dressing room as well. He gives us a lot of advice and comes up with brilliant ideas so it’s going to be a big loss”
