This pertains to the generally accepted rules that govern the sport of boxing. It is the basis for the code of rules of modern boxing and is applicable in both professional and amateur boxing. It is so named because John Douglas, who endorsed the code, was the 9th Marquess of Queensberry at the time. The rules were originally written by John Graham Chambers.
