Corner Man

In boxing, a Corner Man, sometimes simply called "corner," is a crucial member of a fighter's support team. This individual is typically a coach or teammate who assists the boxer during a match.

The corner man is positioned outside the ring but remains close by to provide support and guidance.

Between rounds, the corner man plays a vital role in the fighter's performance.

They offer tactical advice, assess the boxer's condition, and provide encouragement. This brief period allows the corner man to share insights on the opponent's weaknesses or suggest changes in strategy.

One of the corner man's most important responsibilities is to protect the fighter's well-being.

If the boxer is taking excessive punishment or is clearly outmatched, the corner man has the authority to "throw in the towel," signaling the referee to stop the fight. This decision, while difficult, can prevent serious injury to the boxer.
