Yuri Foreman is an Israeli professional boxer who is used to be a WBA (World Boxing Association) super welterweight champion. Born on August 5, 1980 in Gomel, Belarus, Foreman started boxing at the young age of 7 while he was still in Belarus. Approximately two years later, Foreman and his family moved to Israel where he trained at an Arab gym.

Early on, despite having a bit of trouble and experiencing a lot of hatred from those who went to the Arab gym, Foreman was able to pull succeed and soon become an amateur boxing who reaped 3 national boxing championships. Over the course of his amateur career, Foreman was quite successful compiling a record of 75 victories and 5 losses. He even won the New York Golden Glove award in 2001.

By 2002, Foreman went pro and kicked off his career with a bang. His first 29 fights were all victories until the inevitable happened. On June 5, 2010, Foreman finally experienced his first defeat via TKO on the ninth round to Miguel Cotto.

Throughout the course of his professional career, Foreman was able to go on 30 fights that reaped 29 wins and one loss. He also went against many of the established names in the boxing world such as Miguel Cotto, James Moore, Vinroy Barrett, Andrey Tsurkan, Saul Roman, Daniel Santos, and Anthony Thompson. He has also starred in a Hollywood film entitled “Fighting” together with Terrence Howard and Channing Tatum. Plus, he has appeared multiply times on televised fights featured on Showtime and ESPN.
