Rain Mako is a female who used to be a professional female boxer. She currently resides in Melbourne, Australia, but she was born in Christchurch, New Zealand in August 27, 1976. Mako has been noted as one of the influential figures who helped increase the popularity of female boxing in Oceania. Although boxing is still considered by many as a male sport, since Mako’s participation in the sport, the interest in female boxing has increased noticeably since 1996.

Mako’s career was rather short, spanning a short 2 years from 2000 to 2001. During that time, Mako provided the world of female boxing with a type of fighting that involved some pizzazz and a bit of glamour despite her rather Amazonian physique. During her time in boxing, Mako spent a lot of time fighting in Australia with her last two fights noticeably falling short in terms of quality compared to her first 4 fights.

During her short 2 year stint in boxing, Mako was able to participate in a total of 6 fights with 4 wins and 2 losses. All of Mako’s fights were fought at the Knox Basketball Stadium in Melbourne, Australia. Recently, she has signed up with YMCA to assist the organization with their training programs.
