Anita Christensen is a world famous female boxer. Born on October 29, 1971, Christensen held a record of 19-2-0 as an amateur and made her pro debut with a TKO win on February 16, 2000, defeating Hungarian boxer Veronica Szucz in Give, Germany. She was also the 1998 Nordic 57-k Women’s champion before she turned pro and is promoted and managed by Betina Palle and Brian Mathiasen.

One of her most controversial fights occurred in 2004 when she won a controversial split decision over Ada Velez of Puerto Rico for the WIBA and WIBF Bantamweight titles although she was knocked down on the 8th round and it was Velez who was clearly the aggressor for much of the fight. After spending 18 months away from the ring, Christensen returned to fight on June 2005, winning a unanimous 6-round decision over Ukrainian boxer Oksana Romanova. Another major win came a year later on June 9, 2006 when she defeated Kenyan boxer Jane Kavulani in Aarhus, Denmark. This was Kavulani’s first pro match outside of Africa. She again fought Kavulani in 2008 when the Kenyan replaced Galina Ivanova. The fight lasted ten rounds, and Kavulani took a count after the tenth body shot. With this win Christensen improved her record to 24-0-0.

She fought Ivanova in June 21, 2008 but was knocked down in the fourth round and lost to a ten round unanimous decision. With this win Ivanova gained the WBC, GBU and the vacant WBA Bantamweight titles.
