Yvone Caples is a former boxing champ who was born on June 14, 1972. She was born in Pune, India, although she is now based in Las Vegas.

An athlete even before she started boxing, Caples started training for the sport in 1993 while attending the University of Berkeley of California. Her first major bout was in 1997 when she fought in the first USA Boxing Women’s National Championships in 1997. A year later she won gold at the 110-lb division at Nebraska's Cornhusker State Games in Omaha. However, her pro debut came later, in 1999 at the Gold Strike Casino. Here she fought Natasha Wilburn, who dropped Caples to 1-9.

She also fought at the 1999 USA Boxing Women’s Championships, winning the quarter bout final against Sophia Yin before losing to Linda Carrillo in the semifinal.

Other boxers that she had met on the ring include Kim Messer, Elena Reid, and Para Dreine, not to mention Regina Halmich. She faced Halmich on WIBG World Junior Flyweight title in 2002. She lost the fight, however, but this did not stop the fans from booing to show their displeasure over the decision.

She fought Anissa Zamarron in Guam for the WIBA Light Flyweight intercontinental title. Zamarron defeated Caples in five rounds by a technical knock-out.

She became a major world champion in 2003 when she defeated Mary Duron at a match in the Hilton Hotel in Costa Mesa, California, winning the IFBA Flyweight title.

Aside from boxing, Caples, who has a degree in English, also spends time as a high school English teacher.
