Andre Eason
Andre Eason is a professional boxer that competes in the Welterweight Division. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, on December 19, 1975.
His first fight as a professional boxer was on December 4, 1999, against Adrian Reed. It was held in Augusta, Georgia. He won the bout during the first round through a technical knockout. His succeeding fight was also a success. This time, it was with Luis Angel Lopez, held just few months after his initial bout.
Eason had his first taste of loss after his victory with Lopez. Through a unanimous decision, Freddie Cadena earned the spotlight on October 13, 2000. Though he was able to get himself up after the loss by defeating Sammy Sparkman, Delfin Rodriguez, Michael Melvin, and Jaime Morales, he was in still no match to big-time boxing legends like Demetrius Hopkins and Francisco Bojado. He was also defeated by Juan Urango on August 26, 2005, a fight held at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. The prize at stake was the WBC Latin American Light Welterweight Title.
Eason decided to bring his charm and power to the boob tube. He decided to join a television program called The Contender. It was then hosted by the iconic boxer Sugar Ray Leonard and produced by Sylvester Stallone, who was famous for her Rocky Balboa portrayals. Eason then carried the nickname “Daredevil.”
Nevertheless, even if the name sounded scary, it was never enough to bring him to the grand prize. He eventually lost to Walter Wright. In the bout, Eason initially was the aggressor by putting Wright in corners. However, the latter was able to fight back, even knocking Eason out as early as the first round.
All in all, Eason has won 15 of his fights, 6 of them caused by knockouts. He lost 5 and has zero draws and contests.
