David Estrada is a Welterweight Division boxer. He was born on December 19, 1978, and is of Guatemalan-Mexican descent. However, he was born in Chicago, Illinois, and is currently living in Miami, Florida.

Also known as King David, he started out his boxing career right at his birthplace. He had competed in several championships, including Chicago Park District Championship where he won the title in 1993. He also had participated in Golden Gloves Championship in Texas in 1998 and won against his opponents. When he was already done in his amateur career, he already had 60 fights under his name. He won 50 of them, 13 of which were results from knockouts. This also catapulted him to the top 10 ranks.

By 1999, he was already fighting professionally. He had his first trainings right in Windy City Boxing Gym in Chicago. He first battled it out with Tyrone Handy on October 28, 1999, at Hollywood Casino, Aurora. He won against him through a unanimous decision (UD). Right after, he fought against Terry Ford and Matias Anibal Rios and defeated them through a UD.

Exactly a year after his professional debut, Estrada faced Eric Pinero, who was known for his Southpaw stance—in direct contrast to the Orthodox style of boxing of Estrada. Nevertheless, he was able to beat him during the third round via technical knockout. The fight was broadcasted in Sunshine Network TV. He also beat Charles Clark in the same manner—through a technical knockout—though Clark had lasted until the fifth round.

However, in 2005 until 2007, Estrada suffered some minor setbacks when he lost his bouts against Shane Mosley and Kermit Crinton, where he was defeated through a TKO during the tenth round. He also lost against Andre Berto on September 29, 2007 at Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City. The fight lasted for 11 rounds.
