Silvio Rafael Gamez who was also known as Leo “Torito” Gamez was a former boxing enthusiast. He was born on August 8, 1963 and started out as a boxer in Venezuela. He was the former World Flyweight Champion and was also known to be the first Flyweight boxer to achieve four world titles from four different divisions in the world history. Since the Betulio Gonzalez reign in Venezuela, Leo Gamez was considered to be one of the greatest fighters in the country. In February 14, 1985, Leo Gamez marked his name in the boxing industry when he made his first debut in Maracay, winning over Francisco Garcia in the fourth round. Right after his first victory, Gamez also sky rocketed his triumphs when he won against Alcides Hernandez in Maracay in April 17 1985.

Gamez never stopped his pursuit for victories and still won six consecutive knockouts right after his first two victories. His opponents include Rafael Lara where he won twice; one of his first win was in Maracay on August 14 at El Guayabo defeating Jose Escorcia for only four rounds. Also, in Maracaibo, Gamez won against Escorcia's brother, Alberto, in the fourth round on November 28, 1986. While accelerating rapidly in the boxing industry, Gamez got his first down by a match held at Maracay against opponent, Rafael Bolivar in February 2, 1987. From then on, Gamez started to carve his name on magazines such as the Guantes magazine where he was mentioned almost all over the pages. He also became very popular among boxing fans, especially to Hispanics whom he exhibited his first few leaps. The date April 30 marked Gamez's first hold of the national Junior Flyweight title against Pedro Nieves in Turnero, Venezuela. The match extended for only up to the second round and knocked out Nieves bringing with him his hand held championship title.

Gamez's last match was said to held in Germany. After several fights and rematches, Gamez decided to retire from his boxing career. He left an excellent record of 34 wins, one draw, and 11 losses and among his 34 wins, 25 matches ended by a knockout.
