Player Profile and Personal Life

Chantelle Anna Cameron was born on May 14, 1991, in Northampton, England, United Kingdom. The British fighter is 173 cm tall and has a wingspan of 175 cm.

She has competed in the lightweight and Super lightweight divisions. She fights from an orthodox position and is known for her high work rate and relentless pressure.

She has been a vocal advocate for equality in women's boxing, notably vacating a major world title in 2025 to take a stand for better conditions and the implementation of three-minute rounds.

Career

Cameron began her professional campaign in May 2017 with a points victory. She found early success, winning the IBO Lightweight title in just her fifth fight. She later moved up to Super lightweight, capturing the WBC Super Lightweight title in 2020 and unifying the division in 2022 by defeating Jessica McCaskill to become the undisputed champion.

Her career is largely defined by her rivalry with Irish legend Katie Taylor. In May 2023, Cameron handed Taylor her first professional defeat via majority decision in Dublin to retain her undisputed crown.

However, she lost the titles in a direct rematch in November 2023 via a close majority decision.

Cameron rebuilt her standing in 2024, winning the WBC Interim Super Lightweight Title by defeating Elhem Mekhaled. She successfully defended this belt against Patricia Berghult and Jessica Camara in 2025.

After being elevated to full WBC champion in late 2025, Cameron chose to vacate the title in October 2025, citing a desire to support women's choice and equality in the sport after joining Most Valuable Promotions.
