In February 2023, he captured the vacant WBC Super Featherweight title with a dominant unanimous decision over the previously undefeated Rey Vargas.
In October 2023, he defended the title in a "Fight of the Year" contender against Otabek Kholmatov, winning by a dramatic TKO with only seven seconds left in the 12th round.
In July 2024, he lost the title to Robson Conceicao by a controversial split decision. However, Ford won the title back in an immediate rematch in November 2024, again by split decision.
