Jermall Charlo is a professional boxer from the United States. He is a former world champion in two separate weight classes, having held the IBF Light Middleweight title and the WBC Middleweight title.

His identical twin brother, Jermell Charlo, is also a professional boxer and a former undisputed Light Middleweight World champion.

Career

Charlo began his professional campaign in 2008 and built an undefeated record over his first seven years in the sport. His first world title opportunity came in September 2015, when he defeated Cornelius Bundrage by knockout to win the IBF Light Middleweight championship.

He successfully defended the IBF title three times, including a knockout victory over previously unbeaten contender Julian Williams. After these defenses, he vacated his title to move up to the middleweight division.

In 2018, Charlo won the WBC Interim Middleweight title. He was later elevated to full WBC champion in 2019. His reign included several successful defenses, most notably a unanimous decision win against Sergiy Derevyanchenko in 2020. After a long period of inactivity, his tenure as champion ended in 2024.
