Career
He turned pro in October 2010. It was a win against Christian Cruz. Roman won his first title, the North American Boxing Association Super Bantamweight title in July 2015. It was against Daniel Noriega. He defended this title four times against Erik Ruiz, Jose Robles Olvera, Christian Esquivel, and Enrique Quevedo.
His next title was the WBA World Super Bantamweight title, which he won against Shun Kubo. He defended this title four times in April 2019, and he beat Gavin McDonnell to add to the IBF World Super Bantamweight title. He lost both to Murodjon Akhmadaliev in January 2020.
In June 2022, he went up against Stephen Fulton but lost. The loss also caused him to lose his chance at winning the WBC World Super Bantamweight and the WBO World Super Bantamweight titles.
