Career

Castro turned pro in October 2016. His first professional fight was against German Ivan Meraz. In February 2018, he won his first title, the WBC US title. Then in February 2019, he picked up the WBC Continental Americas title. He defended this title twice against Mario Diaz Maldonado in October 2019 and against Jesus Ruiz Garcia in February 2020.

In August 2021, he picked up the WBC Continental Americas Featherweight title which was vacant. In February 2022, he has his first professional loss, it was to Luis Nerry. It cost him the chance to win the WBC Silver Super Bantamweight and the WBO Inter-Continental Super Bantamweight titles.

In July 2022, he lost to Brandon Figueroa via TKO.
