Michael Conlan, nicknamed “Mick”, is a professional boxer from Northern Ireland. He has held the WBA (Regular) Featherweight Title. He also has a bronze medal from the 2012 London Olympics. Career
Conlan turned pro in March 2017. His first fight was against Tim Ibarra. He did not win his first title until December a year over he started, it was the WBO Inter-Continental Featherweight title. In March 2019, he successfully defended his title against Ruben Garcia Hernandez. In August of the same year, he defended the title and picked up the vacant WBA Inter-Continental Featherweight title when he defeated Diego Albert Ruiz.He defended his WBO title in December 2019 against Vladimir Nikitin. In April 2021, he beat Ionut Baluta and picked up the WBO Inter-Continental Super Bantamweight title. In August of that year, he won the WBA Interim World Featherweight title.
In March 2022, he tried for the WBA World Featherweight title but lost to Leigh Wood. That was the first loss of his professional career. He had two more fights in 2022, both wins. In August, he beat Miguel Marriaga and in December, he beat Karim Guerfi.
