Career

Wood turned pro in October 2011. His first-ever professional fight was against Chuck Jones. He won his first professional title in February 2014, the BBBofC British Super Bantamweight title. Then a few years later in March 2016, he won the BBBofC Midlands Arena Featherweight title.

In March 2019, he won the Commonwealth Boxing Council Featherweight title after beating Abraham Osei Bonsu. He managed to defend this in May of the same year against Ryan Doyle.

He won his first WBO, the WBO European Featherweight title in May 2019 when he defeated David Oliver Joyce. He failed to defend this against James Dickens in February 2020. In February 2021, he won the BBBofC British Featherweight Title.

In July 2021, he won the WBA World Featherweight title. He successfully defended this once before he lost the title to Mauricio Lara in February 2023.
