Career
Adames began his professional campaign in 2015. In his early career, he captured several regional titles, including the WBA Fedelatin Welterweight Title in 2016.His first world title opportunity came in November 2019 against Patrick Teixeira for the WBO Interim Super Welterweight belt, where he suffered his first professional defeat via unanimous decision. Following this loss, Adames moved up to the Middleweight division.
He secured a significant victory in December 2021 by defeating top contender Sergiy Derevyanchenko. In October 2022, he won the WBC Interim Middleweight title with a knockout win against Juan Macias Montiel. He later defended the interim title against former unified champion Julian Williams in June 2023.
In May 2024, Adames was elevated to full WBC Middleweight World champion. His first defense of the title was a unanimous decision victory over Terrell Gausha in October 2025.
