Isaac Cruz is a professional boxer who was born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico. He is currently ranked as the 6th best active lightweight champion according to Transnational Boxing Rankings Board.
Venturing into Professional Career
The first time Cruz became a professional boxer is when he had encountered title contender Diego Magdaleno on the boxing major event of Gervonta Davis and Leo Santa Cruz. It only took Cruz 53 seconds to knock out Magdaleno in the first round.
In March 2021, he fought against Jose Matias Romero for the WBA lightweight title. In the end, Cruz dominated the match via unanimous decision with resulting scores of 114-113, 118-109, and 115-112.
His latest fight in December 2021 was supposed to be for Rolando Romero, however, he was charged with sexual assault, so his promoter has to pull him out of the fight. They have announced that Cruz will replace Romero via a pay-per-view show. His fight with Gervonta Davis marks his second loss in his professional career.
