Alvarado was born René Antonio Alvarado Sánchez in February 15, 1989 in Managua, Nicaragua. Nicknamed, Gemelo, he stands 170 cm tall and has a reach of 183 cm long. He has fought in the Super Bantamweight, Super Featherweight, and Featherweight divisions.Aside from playing boxing, he also enjoys following soccer. He grew up a fan of Oscar De La Hoya. It is reported that he has always dreamed of signing with Golden Boy Promotions.
Career
He made his professional debut in 2008. He fought and won against Cristobal Ramos. Notable fights throughout his career include Andrew Cancio and Yuriokis Gamboa.The fights against Cancio had given Alvarado the WBA Super Featherweight title. He lost the title to Roger Gutierrez in 2020. The two met again in 2021 where Alvarado lost and Gutierrez defended the title.
