Career

Gutierrez debuted as a professional boxer in October 2013. His first fight was against Alexander Ponce. He won that bout via Unanimous Decision (UD). In the next five years of his career, he won a majority of his fights.

In November 2020, he went up against Rene Alvarado. Alvarado held the Super Featherweight title and Gutierrez was his first title defense challenger. This was the second time he had faced Alvarado. The two once met in the ring in 2017. Gutierrez won the 2020 bout and went home with the title.

In 2021, the two met again in a rubber match. It was held on August 14. Gutierrez once again won and defended his title. In October of that year, it was decided that he would defend his title again, this time against Chris Colbert. It was scheduled for February 2022 but Gutierrez withdrew because he tested positive for COVID-19.
