In October 2022, a scheduled bout with Chris Eubank Jr. was cancelled after Benn tested positive for a banned substance.
The British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC) did not sanction his subsequent fights. He returned to the ring in the United States, securing a decision win over Rodolfo Orozco in 2023 and another against Peter Dobson in February 2024.
