Liam Williams
Liam Williams is a professional boxer who was a former titleholder for the WBO interim light-middleweight belt and the current holder of the WBO middleweight title. As for his regional level career, he held the British and Commonwealth light-middleweight titles in 2014-16 and the British middleweight title in 2018-20.
Williams started as an amateur boxer at the age of 9, where he had a record of 44 wins out of 49 fights. At a young age, he was already gathering many awards in Britain and Europe. When he was just 18 years old, he already accomplished 7 Welsh titles at all age levels. He also prides himself for beating Warren Sinden, who is currently a professional boxer.
In 2011, he decided to become a professional boxer as a light-middleweight challenger, and this led him to fight against a more experienced boxer named Ryan Clark. Williams successfully won the match and the vacant Commonhealth light-middleweight title in November 2014. After his fight against Clark, he was bound to face Michael Lomax, who was defeated via technical knockout in the 2nd round.
As a rising boxer, he was involved in controversies, too. Williams was defeated by Liam Smith, who was a former WBO light-middleweight world champion in 2017. After the fight, the organization found out that Smith is ineligible to hold the interim WBO light-middleweight world title because of the incorrect weight record.
Williams chose to be mum over his personal life and did not disclose if he is seeing anyone. However, he shared about his upbringing, like when his mother had taught him to be tough. He also noted that his family is not soft people, and they have taught him to become a fighter. As a child, he was already a brawler and he knew to himself how bad he wanted to fight. He shared that he was also too strong for his age before, but he learned to use his brain than just his mere brute, physical force.
