Career
He turned pro on July 28, 2007. Since he turned pro, he has had 29 fights, winning 23 of them.
He won his first title in February 2008, the Boxing South Africa South African Cruiserweight title when he beat Patrick Madzinga. A few months later in July, he successfully defended this against Sean Santana.
In October 2008, he picked up the vacant WBA Pan African Cruiserweight title after winning against Marciano Commey.
His first loss came in 2011 when he was defeated by Zack Mwekassa in a match held at the Emperor’s Palace. In November 2012, he won the African Boxing Union Cruiserweight title. Then in January 2014, he won the North American Boxing Federation Cruiserweight title against Olanrewaju Durodola.
In December 2016, he had the chance to win the WBO World Cruiserweight title but lost to Oleksandr Usyk. In 2017, he had another chance at two WBC titles but lost to Constantin Bejenaru.
In December 2018, he won his first WBC title, the WBC Silver Cruiserweight title when he beat Denis Lebedev. He successfully defended this against Evgeny Tishchenko in March 2021. He lost the title to llunga Junior Makabu in January 2022.
