Career
Whyte turned pro on September 16, 2011. Since he turned pro, he has had 32 fights and he won 28 of them – 19 via knockout. He won his first professional boxing title on September 12, 2015, after he defeated Brian Minto at the O2 Arena. That win handed him the WBC International Silver Heavyweight title.
In December of the same year and also at the O2 Arena, he lost the title and lost the chance to win the BBBofC British Heavyweight title and the Commonwealth Boxing Council Heavyweight title when he was beaten by Anthony Joshua.
On July 2016, he won the WBC International Heavyweight Title, and on October 2016, he won the BBBofC British Heavyweight title. In October 2017, he won the WBC Silver Heavyweight title when he beat Robert Helenius. In July 2018, he picked up the vacant WBO International Heavyweight title.
He successfully defended both titles in December 2018. In August 2020, he lost to Alexander Povetkin. In their rematch in 2021, he won the WBC Interim World Heavyweight title. In April 2022, he lost this to Tyson Fury. His latest match was held in November 2022. This was against Jermaine Franklin at the Wembley Arena.
