Career
He turned pro in October 2013 after he won gold at the 2012 London Olympics. His first fight as a professional boxer was against Paul Butlin. He won his first title in 2014 when he won the vacant WBC International Heavyweight title. He defended this in May 2015.In September of the same year, he also picked up the vacant Commonwealth Boxing Council Heavyweight title. Before the year ended, he also picked up the BBBofC British Heavyweight Title. In 2016, he won the IBF World Heavyweight title after he defeated Charles Martin. He defended his title twice in 2016.
In 2017, he went up against Wladimir Klitschko and added the IBO World Heavy and the WBA Super World Heavyweight titles to his name. He defended his three titles in October 2017 against Carlos Takam.
In March 2018, he added the WBO World Heavyweight title to his name after he beat Joseph Parker. He defended all four of his titles against Alexander Povetkin in September 2018. In June 2019, he lost these to Andy Ruiz but took them back before the year ended when he and Ruiz went into a re-match.
He defended his title against Oleksandr Usyk in September 2021. In August 2022, he lost his title in his rematch with Usyk.
