Susana Vasquez
Susana Vazquez, also known as “Toloquita” in the world of boxing, holds the championship title in the World Boxing Council Female Super Bantamweight. She is also the former Mexican Golden Gloves champion when she had her second professional fight. Susana practices the Orthodox stance. The Mexican professional boxer weighs 118 lbs. and fought four times in her professional boxing career.
She was unfortunately defeated by Jackie Nava in October 17, 2005 by a unanimous decision in round 10 of 10 at the Auditorio Municipal, Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. Jackie was defending her WBC World Super Bantamweight where Suzana wasn’t successful enough to get hold of. But Suzana, herself, proved to be a very worthy opponent to Jackie according to commentators. She tended to push the pressure to Nava all the time. But eventually as the fight went through Suzana already suffered cuts in the eyes and bleeding nose that sapped her strength. The bout was refereed by Guillermo Ayon. The judges present were Benjamin Rendon (100-92), Ramone Espinoza (99-91), and Alejandro Rochin Mapula (99-91) allowing Vazquez to fall to a 1-1 record.
In December 21, 2005, Susana was also defeated by Mexican Ana Maria in a 10 round bout by a unanimous decision. The match was for the vacant Mexican Female Bantamweight title. Though Vazquez’s professional record fell to 1-2-0 (0 KO’s), this was considered as the best fight of the night by the 1,000 or more fans who watched the two strong fighters fight in the ring.
