Manuel Charr is a Lebanese boxer based in Berlin who was once thought of as the next heavyweight boxing titleholder. Charr was born Machmoud Omeirat Charr. A mixed martial artists, Charr credits the influence of Jean Claude Van Damme for his interest in fighting. He started training as a boy at the Duisburg Masters gym, the only school in Germany for K1 fighters. He fought in amateur kickboxing matches before he was spotted by Ulli Wegner in 2005. Wegner persuaded Charr to go to Berlin so he can take up boxing full time.

He started his professional boxing under Sauerland Event with cruiser Marco Huck, staying with the company from 2005 to 2007. Charr moved to Universum in 2007 until 2011. His first notable bout came in 2005 when he defeated Czech boxer David Vicena after four rounds. For the next twelve months he worked on winning six more bouts, winning four of them by knock out. However he was not being paid for any of his matches since he did not possess a work permit or a passport. More problems were bound to arise for the boxer due to his lack of a German passport and work permit.
Prior to parting ways with his promoional company universum in 2011, Charr stepped into the ring to face off with Zack Page.

“The contract is dissolved. Very soon, I'll let you know when and where I'll step in the ring again. I want to thank Universum for the success and support,” Charr said while announcing his split with the company.

He is expected to join Felix Sturm's Promotion in Germany.
