Guillermo Jones is a professional boxer from Panama who is best known under his nickname “El Felino.” Jones was born on May 5, 1972 in Colon, Panama, and has been known for being defeated in three world title fights that ended in controversial decisions.

Jones started boxing as a welterweight and junior middleweight sometime in 1993. He was victorious during his first 21 bouts in his home country before he went abroad to fight. He was then stopped in his first fight away from home in a match that ended in 2 rounds against David Noel of Venezuela.

He was able to avenge his loss to Noel when Don King gave him a chance to fight against Laurent Boudouani for the WBA title sometime in 1998. The result of the match was a draw before he lost the rematch via split decision.

After all the fights he fought, he jumped up to four weight classes up and started fighting in cruiserweight. He went against Johnny Nelson in 2002, which ended once more in a draw.

Three years later, Jones faced another split decision defeat against Steve Cunningham. However he was able to rebound within the same year when he KO-ed Wayne Braithwaite and Kelvin Davis.

Throughout his career, Jones has fought in a total of 42 matches, 37 of those fights were won with 29 matches won via knockout. His 3 losses so far were all controversial. Jones currently holds a WBA championship title for his weight class.
