Fans look forward to the much awaited fight of Lucian Bute’s unique angles and southpaw movements against Librado Andrade’s aggressive styles. This will be held in October 24 at the Ball Centre.
28-year-old Bute, a native of Romania, defeated Alejandro Berrio in the 11th round and his fight in October will be his second chance to defend his IBF super-middleweight title. The bout of the Romanian boxer against the Mexican-American possesses a little sense of “competition”.
Bute, who fought most of his entire professional career outside Montreal since 2003, did express that the local grudge hangs in the air since Andrade is known all over the place.
29-year-old Andrade became the set challenger to Bute’s title when he defeated Robert Stieglitz in the 8th round last March. Andrade became extremely popular when he won a fight against Otis Grant, a former WBO champion in the 7th round last 2006. The victory allowed him to build strong support from fans.
Bute with 22 wins, no loss and 18 knockouts is sponsored by InterBox, while Andrade with 27 wins, one loss and 21 knockouts is sponsored by Golden Boy.
The IBF Champion just returned from his native country. He has enrolled in correspondence courses from the University of Galati and recently received his degree in Physical Education. He is contemplating to earn a master’s degree after that.
