Manny Pacquiao, Ring Magazine’s pound-for-pound boxing champion is definitely a man to beat when it comes to speed. Shawn Porter, the current and definitely undefeated title holder for the junior lightweight division, has seen and felt it himself. Porter is in Baguio City to serve as Pacquiao’s sparring partner, along with Urbano Antillon, lightweight champion.manny pacquiao

Speed will also be Pacquiao’s greatest weapon once he faces Miguel Cotto, the WBO welterweight champion, at MGM Grand, Las Vegas, on November 14.

Though Pacquiao hasn’t created any injury or knocked his sparring partner out unlike before; however, he is very much aware that his speed will be a huge factor in defeating the larger Cotto. So far, Porter has sparred with Pacquiao for three good rounds. He plans to do so again this week.

Sparring with Pacquiao is more than just hours’ session of testing the boxer’s ability. It is also a time to test the skills of his sparring partners, and they are definitely learning a lot from the experience. Amir Khan, former sparring partner and now WBA junior welterweight champion, confirmed that it was his sparring sessions with Pacquiao that refueled his passion in boxing after losing to Breidis Prescott.
