Retired and undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather wants an exhibition bout with UFC star Conor McGregor in 2023.
Back in 2017, Mayweather won against Conor McGregor in the final bout of his career. Since he retired, he has been in a number of exhibition bouts and now says that he is in talks to fight McGregor a second time. It is not yet known if its going to be a rematch or just an exhibition fight.
“We don’t know if it’s going to be an exhibition or a real fight,” he told the Daily Mail in an interview. “I would prefer an exhibition.”
“They already talked to me about my number that I’m going to receive,” Floyd told also told TMZ, adding, “9 figures. You know we gotta start at least 100 million for Floyd Mayweather.”
Mayweather also suggested that Allegiant Stadium would be the venue for the fight.
On Instagram, McGregor later posted a photo of him and Mayweather in their latest fight. It was captioned - “#notinterested”.
Since his loss to Mayweather in 2017, McGregor has played for the UFC but he has struggled to get back into form. At 34, he has lost three of his last four fights in the UFC. He is still in recovery from the broken leg that he got when he went up against Dustin Poirier a year ago.
Mayweather is set to compete in another exhibition match this weekend. It will be against Mikuru Asakura and will be held in Japan.
