Oscar De La Hoya had a chance to display his skills to the media a few days ago. To make his point, the 35-year-old boxer lay on his back and proclaimed, “You’ll never see me like this!” The Mexican-American boxer would much rather like to see his opponent – 29-year-old Manny Pacquiao – flat on his back on December 6.>
De La Hoya has been tireless training in the Big Bear Lake gym. He is continuously running long miles in an effort to build up strength and agility. He and his camp are hoping to best Pacquiao, the current world featherweight champion, with sheer strength and power. Pacquiao’s team on the other hand is looking to defeat De La Hoya with speed and agility.
Pacquiao is considered the underdog of the upcoming fight. He stands four inches shorter than De La Hoya and his opponent also has a longer reach than he does.
De La Hoya says that his goal for the fight is to get a knock out. He has been training for a 12 round fight and is aiming to knock out Pacquiao in the early as well as in the later rounds. He is currently training with Ingnacio Beristain.
Beristain claims to know Pacquiao’s fighting style. He is using his knowledge of the featherweight fighter to help secure De La Hoya the win.
