Atlanta Hawks is a professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association. In 1958, they won their first and only NBA Championship title. The team also used to play in the now-defunct National Basketball League. They used to be called the Buffalo Bison, Tri-Cities Blackhawks, Milwaukee Hawks, and the St. Louis Hawks.

Some of the more notable players from the Hawks’ roster include Bob Pettit who was named NBA MVP in 1956 and again in 1959. Dikembe Mutombo was also part of the team when he was named the NBA Defensive Player of the Year in 1997 and again in 1998.
