Blake Griffin is a professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association. He has played for the Los Angeles Clippers, Detroit Pistons, Brooklyn Nets, and the Boston Celtics.

High School and College Career
Griffin attended the Oklahoma Christian High School in Edmond, Oklahoma. In his senior year, he was named a McDonald’s All-American. He received a number of scholarship offers in his senior year and he chose to commit to play for the University of Oklahoma. He stayed with them from 2007 to 2009.While in college, he was named the 2009 Big 12 Player of the Year. He also led the NCAA in rebounds. Other accolades include being named the 2009 National College Player of the Year.
Professional Career
He declared for the NBA in 2009, forgoing the rest of his college eligibility.He was the first overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft and was selected by the Los Angeles Clippers. He played with them in that year’s NBA Summer League and was named the Summer League MVP.
In his first year with the team, he was named the NBA Rookie of the Year. He was also named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team and in his first year, he was named an NBA All-Star for the first time. From 2012 to 2014, he was named to the All-NBA Second Team, and from 2011 to 2015, he was consistently named an All-Star.
In 2018, he was traded to the Detroit Pistons alongside teammates Brice Johnson and Willie Reed. In 2019, he was named an NBA All-Star for the sixth time in his professional career. He suffered injuries between 2019 and 2021, causing him to miss out on active play.
In 2021, his contract was bought out by the Pistons and Griffin signed with the Brooklyn Nets. He signed with the Nets in August 2021. The following year, he signed with the Boston Celtics, signing a one-year contract with the team.
