Dino Meneghin is an Italian former professional basketball player who widely regarded as the best Italian player ever and one of Europe's all-time greats. He was drafted into the National Basketball Association by the Atlanta Hawks but has never played a game in the NBA.

Meneghin played as a center and was known for his scoring, rebounding, and defensive skills. He is the father of Andrea Meneghin, who also played professional basketball.

Professional Career

Meneghin's professional career began at the age of 16 when he played his first game in the Italian League with Ignis Varese on November 20, 1966.

He went on to have an illustrious 28-year career, playing his last game at the age of 45.

During his career, Meneghin won numerous titles and individual awards. He won seven EuroLeague championships, twelve Italian League titles, and six Italian Cups.

He was named European Player of the Year twice (1980 and 1983) and won the Euroscar award in 1983.

Meneghin was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in the 11th round of the 1970 NBA Draft but never played in the NBA.

He represented Italy in international competitions, winning a silver medal at the 1980 Moscow Olympics and a gold medal at EuroBasket 1983.
