Donté Greene

Donté Greene is an American former professional basketball player who had a brief National Basketball Association career followed by an extensive international playing career. His short NBA career was all with the Sacramento Kings.

Donté Dominic Greene was born on February 21, 1988, in Munich, Bavaria, West Germany. He stands 6 feet 11 inches tall and weighed 226 pounds during his playing career.

Greene played as a small forward and power forward.

High School and College Career

Greene attended Towson Catholic High School in Towson, Maryland, where he was a McDonald's All-American and First-team Parade All-American in 2007.

He then played one season of college basketball at Syracuse University in 2007-2008.

At Syracuse, Greene was named to the Second-team All-Big East and the Big East All-Freshman Team.

Professional Career

Greene was selected 28th overall in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Memphis Grizzlies but was immediately traded to the Houston Rockets and then to the Sacramento Kings.

He played four seasons with the Kings from 2008 to 2012.

After his NBA stint, Greene had an extensive international career, playing for teams in Puerto Rico, China, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Philippines, Lebanon, Tunisia, and Uruguay.

Greene represented the United States in international competitions, winning a gold medal at the 2006 FIBA Americas U18 Championship and a silver medal at the 2007 FIBA U19 World Championship.
