Earl Barron is an American basketball coach and former professional player who currently serves as a video and player development assistant for the Indiana Pacers. He also played in the National Basketball Association for a number of teams including the Miami Heat and Phoenix Suns.

In 2006, he became an NBA Champion with the Miami Heat.

Earl Daniel Barron Jr. was born on August 14, 1981, in Clarksdale, Mississippi. He stands 213 cm tall and his weight was last listed at 113 kg. He shot right and played both center and power forward positions.

Outside of basketball, Barron is an avid poker player and participated in the 2015 World Series of Poker, though he was eliminated in the early stages.

High School and College Career

Barron attended Clarksdale High School in Clarksdale, Mississippi. He then played college basketball at the University of Memphis from 1999 to 2003.

Professional Career

After going undrafted in 2003, Barron began his career overseas with Tuborg Pilsener.

He then played for the Huntsville Flight and Red Bull Barako before joining the Miami Heat (2005-2008), where he won an NBA championship in 2006.

During this period, he also had a stint with the Florida Flame. Following his time with the Heat, Barron played for numerous teams including GMAC Bologna, Los Angeles D-Fenders, and Iowa Energy. He then had brief stints with multiple NBA teams: New York Knicks, Phoenix Suns, Milwaukee Bucks, Portland Trail Blazers, Golden State Warriors, and Washington Wizards.

He also played in international leagues with the Meralco Bolts and Atleticos de San Germán.

His later career included a second stint with the Knicks, time with the Bakersfield Jam, another period with the Suns, and playing in Asia for the Fubon Braves and Toyama Grouses before retiring in 2017. After his playing career, he began coaching as an assistant with the Northern Arizona Suns.
