Horace Brightman was an American professional basketball player and coach who had a brief playing career before transitioning into coaching. He has played for the Boston Celtics and Seattle Athletics in the National Basketball Association.

Horace Albert Brightman was born on September 22, 1923, in Eureka, California. He stood 188 cm tall and his weight was listed at 88 kg. He shot right and played forward.After his basketball career, he managed a California resort owned by his former Celtics teammate Chuck Connors. He later moved to Maitland, Florida, in 1971 to work in property management before settling in Portland, Oregon, where he managed apartment houses until his retirement.
Brightman was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 1992 and passed away on June 10 of that year at age 68. He was survived by his wife and seven children.

Brightman played professionally for the Boston Celtics (1946-1947) and Seattle Athletics (1947-1948).He began his coaching career while still playing, serving as player-coach for the Seattle Athletics. He went on to coach Seattle University for eight years and had stints with several other teams before concluding his coaching career with the Anaheim Amigos in 1968.
